MONTREALER ALISON SILCOFF WINS HIGHEST INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR EVENT PLANNING Silcoff won the Award for the Millennium Daffodil Ball for the benefit of the Canadian Cancer Society, which raised a record $1.4 million, making it the largest cancer-related fund-raiser in Canadian history. She created this annual ball in 1994, and over the past seven years has guided it to international prominence. She is the only Montrealer ever to win. Each year California-based Special Events Magazine evaluates hundreds of major events held around the world and measures the merits of each according to stringent criteria: creativity, execution and success in overcoming particularly daunting challenges.
