MONTREALER ALISON SILCOFF WINS HIGHEST INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR EVENT PLANNING

At a star-studded Awards Ceremony in New Orleans on January 13th , 2001, Montreal-based event planner Alison Silcoff was awarded the renowned Special Events Magazine International Gala Award in the category of Best Fund-Raising Event - the highest accolade in the world-wide event planning industry.

Silcoff won the Award for the Millennium Daffodil Ball for the benefit of the Canadian Cancer Society, which raised a record $1.4 million, making it the largest cancer-related fund-raiser in Canadian history. She created this annual ball in 1994, and over the past seven years has guided it to international prominence. She is the only Montrealer ever to win.
